I have created a document that reviews some of the more important and mandatory instructions for OB race secretaries. I will also be emailing this to the current race secretaries for all clubs who hold OB race events. If anyone has any other information that you think should also be included please email me. I am also posting a link to an excel file that is a great example of the correct format for results and includes all the information that should be included to ensure the results are entered in the grading guide correctly and in a timely manner.

Thanks to all the race secretaries who take the time and effort to review the results and check for typos/omissions/errors before sending them to me.

• FTE Entry (no NRN number applied for prior to meet entry)
• Application for NRN number (use this for mailing in all necessary information PRIOR to entering an event)

Hello Other Breed Racing Enthusiasts!

I have just updated the grading guide and posted the what is the FINAL end of the year 2011 Grading Guide on the website. If you had dogs running this past year, please take a look at the file and check to make sure that there are no mistakes, in-accuracies or questions regarding your dogs records and points. In the next few days I will be tallying up the end of year stats and announcing top ten hounds and all the new titles that were awarded this past year.

I would like to announce some changes in the Other Breed NOTRA leadership. Jean Pennie, as the current National Race Director (OB), is stepping down and I want to thank her for her years of service to the sport of NOTRA. She left some mighty big shoes to fill, and I am going to do everything I can to maintain and nurture the integrity, honesty, impartiality and intelligence Jean brought to everything she did, first as the OB Record Keeper, and then as the OB Director.

Please welcome Susan Amicucci to the NOTRA BOD as the incoming OB Record Keeper. Her task is not an easy one and I would like to thank participants and race secretaries in advance for timeliness and accuracy in reporting race meet results. We have the new FTE forms which have made it a lot easier for record keeping. There are also some example Race Meet results reports if Race Secretaries need an example of formatting and what needs to be included on the results submissions.

Since I will not be spending most of my time with the results and the grading guide this coming year, I plan on finally getting the older stats and the records that Teri Dickinson put together on this website. This is my goal for the next 3 months, so look for new updates in the coming year. If any of you have questions, ideas, comments about the website and the information that is available, don't hesitate to email me. I hope that the website has been accessible and easy to navigate, but feedback is always welcome.

I will be updating contact information and BOD information on the website to reflect the election results as well as additions and inserts to the Rule Book.

NOTRA is an all volunteer organization which sponsors amateur oval race meets for a total of 14 breeds of sighthounds. Sighthounds get to enjoy their natural instincts to run, while chasing an artificial lure consisting of synthetic fur and white plastic trash bags. Amateur racing in the US was originally an activity for whippets and whippets still make up a large percentage of the entries at many NOTRA meets. This site is dedicated to promoting the sport of oval racing with the other breeds that NOTRA recognizes, hence the "other breed" designation.

Eligible NOTRA breeds include Afghan Hounds, Basenjis, Borzoi, Cirneco dell Etna, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Magyar Agars, Pharaoh Hounds, Portuguese Podengos, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds and Sloughis.
